Hello, curly-haired friends,
As you’ve probably noticed, I’m always happy to help with questions about curly hair care. One question that comes up time and again is how to properly care for children’s curls. It often revolves around the topic of taming a mane—that is, how best to comb and care for curls. 😊
When I get my little curly-haired one ready for daycare in the morning, I usually just grab a bottle of water, a leave-in conditioner, and a comb. First, I spray a little water on the curls, then I use my fingers to massage a small amount of conditioner into the damp curls. (On lockenkopf.ch, you’ll find a few conditioners—I prefer the Curl Defining Leave-In Conditionerand the Leave-In Smoothie from Afro Love.) Then I comb the hair; and this is very important: I start at the ends and work my way up toward the roots.
Depending on your hair type, you can dilute the conditioner with a little water so your curls don’t get too “heavy,” and the next day, you can often just spray a little water on them using a spray bottle to reactivate the conditioner.
If your curls are still lacking a bit of shine, simply rub a drop of your favorite oil between your hands and run your fingers through your hair again. The oil locks in moisture and restores shine to your curls.
So much for taming your hair, my fellow curl tamers. If you have any more questions, just message me on WhatsApp or email me. It might take me a little while to reply sometimes, but I’ll always get back to you.
See you soon
Warm regards
Rosa Maria
