Use the product: Apply to wet curls. It’s best to divide thick or coarse curly hair into several sections so the conditioner can penetrate thoroughly. Comb through with your fingers strand by strand, adding a little more conditioner and a bit of water if necessary, until your curls form a milky film and you hear a slight squeak when you squeeze them. Pay special attention to dry areas like the ends or the back of the head. Depending on your curl type, you can rinse out the conditioner completely or partially—for very dry or thick curls, it’s best to leave it in as a leave-in treatment. For loose curls or waves, you can experiment with how much product you want to leave in.
