Hello dear curly heads,
As you've probably already noticed, I'm always happy to help with questions about curl care. One question that comes up again and again is how to properly care for children's curls. It's often about mane taming, i.e. the best way to comb and care for curls. 😊
When I get my curly-haired little one ready for daycare in the morning, I usually just take a bottle of water, a leave-in conditioner, and a comb. First, I spray a little water on her curls, then I massage a little conditioner into the damp curls with my fingers. (You can find some conditioners on lockenkopf.ch. I prefer the Curl Defining Leave-in Conditioner and the Leave-In Smoothie from Afro love) Then I comb my hair; and this is really important: I start at the ends and work my way up toward the roots.
Depending on your hair type, you can dilute the conditioner with a little water so your curls don’t feel too “heavy,” and the next day, you can often just spray a little water on them using a spray bottle to reactivate the conditioner.
If your curls are still lacking a bit of shine, simply rub a drop of your favorite oil between your hands and run your fingers through your hair again. The oil locks in moisture and restores shine to your curls.
So much for taming your hair, my fellow curl tamers. If you have any more questions, just message me on WhatsApp or email me. It might take me a little while to reply sometimes, but I’ll always get back to you.
See you soon
Cordially
Rosa Maria
